Office 365

Office 365 is a cloud-based, subscription model version of Microsoft’s popular productivity suite Microsoft Office. Launched in 2001, Office 365 offers the same core applications as traditional versions of Office, that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, etc.

There are additional features available for the users, however, they vary based on the plan purchased.  They include OneDrive, Publisher, Planner, Exchange, SharePoint, Access, Skype, Yammer, and similar.

Different packages

Different packages are available at varying license fee. The versions vary for students, businesses, multi-user households, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations. For mobile users, there is a mobile-only Office 365 version.

subscription model

it is called Office Online where there are a few features that everybody can use free of cost. The subscription model is a one-time license fee with no monthly charges. All the updates are done by Microsoft and automatically available to the users at no additional cost.
